How to Volunteer at Madison Middle School

There are many ways to help out this year and be involved with your student’s school experience.

New this year, Seattle Public Schools has rolled out a Digital Volunteer Application program to help decrease paperwork and help schools capture parent and community volunteers.

You’ll be able to fill the volunteer application out once and send to school(s) of your choice. Your background check will still be school-specific due to privacy.

Because this is a new program, I’m learning how it will support me in my Volunteer Coordinator position. In addition to you going through the SPS volunteer application process I would also like to capture Madison Volunteers the way I have in the past, by having Madison volunteers complete a paper form identifying the events at which they would be interested in helping. Please look over the volunteer opportunities below and make a note the activities where you’d be interested in helping. This will allow me to have a backup and support Madison volunteers in areas of interest.

How can you help with this transition? You will find the forms and instructions at Seattle Schools' Volunteer webpage. Follow application instructions at that website and submit ASAP. This will put you in the system at the beginning of the year so you’re ready to go when I send out a volunteer request (depending on the volunteer opportunity you may have additional forms to fill out and submit).

Please note all volunteers must be cleared at least 2 weeks prior to event. There will be no day-of clearance, no exceptions.
