    Counseling Services

    Counseling Mission

To provide a comprehensive school guidance program that delivers prevention as well as intervention services focusing on the age-appropriate developmental needs, interests and issues of our students.

    Middle Years

The Middle School years can be a challenging time for all. As counselors we are here to support our students in academics, college and career readiness, and social/emotional issues. We follow our students for all three years as they move up each grade in an effort to create consistent and meaningful relationships, and strive to make Madison Middle School a welcoming space for all students and their families.

The Madison Counseling Department is excited to announce the introduction of the new online College and Career / Post High School planning portfolio entitled Naviance! Seattle Public Schools is now using Naviance to support students with high school and beyond planning.  Counselors will be visiting classes throughout the year to deliver Naviance lessons.  Students are encouraged to login now and start exploring this new tool.  This short video will explain how to login. Naviance is adopted by the SPS district and will be rolled-out with 8th graders first in Nov-Dec 2018. 6th and 7th graders will be introduced to it during second semester. If you would like to check it out on your own, your student can do so at this link: https://seattleschools.sharepoint.com/:v:/s/communities/CurrInst/CareerTechEd/EffF0XTOfstNkxTZoYIeVOoBjJLEyaOXX59Gs_Je5zivKA?e=dKTKWM
